Friends of the Johnsburg Public Library

The Friends of the Johnsburg Public Library is a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise money and provide support for the library's role as a vital source of information and enjoyment for the community.

The principal fundraising activity of the Friends is an annual used book sale, with occasional additional sales and sponsorships offered throughout the year.  Donations of your time, used books in good condition, and money are always welcome and tax deductible.  For book donations, please drop them off at the library's main desk.
The Friends meet the third Tuesday every other month at 7:00 pm in the library's meeting room. Check the library's calendar for meeting dates.  Note that meetings are not held in June, November, or December due to book sales and holidays.
What the Friends of the Library Do
  • The Friends help fund free library workshops and programs for all ages.
  • The Friends help sponsor the free Summer Reading Program offered by our Children's Department.
  • The Friends sponsor the library's float at the annual Saufen und Spiel parade.
  • Lastly, our most important fund raising events of the year is our Used Book Sale, held in June and November.
Benefits of Friends Membership
Friends have the first chance to buy books at the Members Preview Night before the Used Book Sale opens to the general public.  As always, $2 A Bag starts Saturday at noon.
  • Friends enjoy the opportunity to actively participate in strengthening Johnsburg's most valuable literary and cultural institution.
  • Membership is open to individuals of all ages who support the Library and its mission.  Several annual membership categories are available, and all contributions are tax deductible.
