  1. New CLC practicum student:
Mary Larson is a Johnsburg resident who has worked at the Algonquin Middle School Learning Center for the past 15 years, using Follett Destiny (our circulation software). She is getting her Library Technical Assistants Degree from the College of Lake County and needs to do a 64 hour practicum. She will be working at the front desk here on Tuesday evenings, when I am here, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. This will give Judy, who currently works the desk on Tuesday nights, additional off-desk time.
  1. Christmas = patrons with new eReaders
In an effort to try and help all the patrons with new eReaders use our downloadable eBook collection, we’ll be setting up an evening schedule where staff familiar with a particular device will be available to help. We felt a more hands-on approach was better than a classroom-type presentation. Hopefully we won’t be inundated!
